Gadar 2 box office collection day 14: Sunny Deol film witnesses a dip as it enters third week

Gadar 2, a movie starring Sunny Deol, has passed the 400 crore milestone, and as it enters its third week, its collections are beginning to decline. The movie's collections have regularly been in the double digits since its August 11 opening with Rs 40.1 crore on the opening day, but on its 14th day of release, the film's daily collections fell into the single digits. Gadar 2 earned Rs 8.20 crore on Thursday, bringing its domestic nett earnings to Rs 418.90 crore.

Gadar 2 made a total of 284.63 crore in its first week. On Independence Day, it earned 55.4 crore, its biggest single-day total. On Thursday, the revenue fell below 10 crore for the first time. 

After Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which earned Rs 543.05 crore throughout the course of its theatrical run, the Sunny Deol starrer had the second-highest Hindi box office performance of the year. It seems a bit difficult for the film to now cross Pathaan's collections with Ayushmann Khurrana's Dream Girl 2, which released today. Also, on September 7, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, will also hit theaters, presumably displacing Gadar 2 in terms of screen count.

The original cast members, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, who played Tara Singh, Sakeena, and Charanjeet Singh, respectively, reprise their roles in Gadar 2, which is directed by Anil Sharma. Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rohit Chaudhary, Rakesh Bedi, Manish Wadhwa, and Manoj Bakshi are also featured in the movie.
