Fans of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha are excited to see their favourite characters in this love story's second installment once more on the big screen. Utkarsh Sharma will play their son Charanjeet in Gadar 2, which also stars Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel as Sakina. In the 2001 romantic-action comedy, the actor, interestingly, portrayed the same character as a child actor. The movie's makers, Zee Studios, have now chosen to honour Tara Singh and Sakina's romance on Valentine's Day by unveiling an unique motion poster for Gadar 2, which is set to hit theatres this year.
Gadar: In Ek Prem Katha, two opposing characters, Tara Singh and Sakina, are shown coming together before the partition and how their lives change as a result. The plot will continue in Gadar 2 with the couple and their grown son appearing decades later. The song "Udja Kale Kawan" is playing in the background as Tara and Sakina are depicted in the motion poster's iconic ethnic avatars, which are reminiscent of the prequel.
Fans might recall that Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was one of the year's biggest hits, with audiences relating to Sunny Deol's patriotism as well as the movie's love narrative. The action actor is seen extracting a hand pump from the ground in a cult classic scene from the movie. According to rumours, Tara Singh's action persona would remain in Gadar 2.
Gadar 2, which is being directed by Anil Sharma, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 11—right before India's Independence Day on August 15. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor, is anticipated to clash with the movie.
