Sandeep Vanga discusses various topics about his career and reveals that the teaser of Arjun Reddy was a game-changing moment for him. He recalls how he and Vijay Deverakonda finalized the teaser and uploaded it at 7 PM from his office. "The moment we pressed enter and released the teaser on YouTube, everything changed within minutes. In just two hours, our phones were flooded with messages and tweets. This was a massive game-changing moment in my career. Vijay and I knew that this film would create history in Indian cinema, and it did," says Sandeep Vanga.
He further adds that the youth went crazy once the film was released, and Vijay Deverakonda became a sensation. "I feel that more than the release day, the teaser release day gave me a bigger high because my hard work paid off. I knew that Arjun Reddy was going to blow everyone away," he adds.
Sandeep Vanga reveals why he did not cast Shahid Kapoor in Animal
The popular director later remade Arjun Reddy in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor, and the film, titled Kabir Singh, became one of the biggest hits of Shahid’s career. Sandeep also shared that Shahid Kapoor is an original actor and should stay away from remakes.
During the same interview, when asked why he did not cast Shahid in Animal, Sandeep explained, "The moment I started writing Animal, Ranbir Kapoor was the organic choice. Midway through the script, only his name kept coming to mind, and I felt there was no better actor than Ranbir to portray the lead. When I approached Ranbir, he was immediately on board, and that’s how Animal was made."
Currently, Sandeep Vanga is busy with the pre-production of his new film, Spirit, starring Prabhas. He promises that the film will be quite intriguing and exciting. Stay tuned for more updates.
