Gandeevadhari Arjuna OTT release date: When, where to stream Varun Tej's action thriller

Netflix on Wednesday announced the digital premiere date of Gandeevadhari Arjuna, which stars actor Varun Tej in the lead role. The upcoming movie is a spy thriller, which is written and directed by Praveen Sattaru.

Director Praveen Sattaru first tasted big success with Guntur Talkies, a small-budget black comedy, starring Jonnalagadda, Rashmi Gautam, Shraddha Das, and Naresh. However, he caught his biggest break with the swanky spy thriller PSV Garuda Vega, starring Rajasekhar in the lead role. And since the success of that 2016 action thriller, Praveen has been trying to recreate a similar success at the box office in vain.

Praveen Sattaru's uninspiring spies

Praveen Sattaru's 2022 directorial outing The Ghost was both a critical and commercial disaster. The movie starring Nagarjuna in the lead role, revolved around a high-ranking interpol officer, who takes the law into his own hands and sets out to wipe out all heads of the international criminal syndicates under the weight of personal guilt. Despite its stunning visuals, the movie failed to click with the audience, owing to the convoluted screenplay.

The success continues to elude Praveen Sattaru as even Gandeevadhari Arjuna didn't generate the expected results at the box office. The movie received poor ratings from the critics and it failed to even tickle the fascination of the movie-going audiences, ending up as a disaster in terms of collection.

"Gandeevadhari Arjun is easily Praveen Sattaru’s most ambitious work but his weakest as a storyteller too," read OTTplay's review.

When to watch Gandeevadhari Arjuna on OTT

Judging from the trailer, Gandeevadhari Arjuna seems to be a spy thriller. Varun Tej plays the role of a sniper-welding, rule-bending spy, who vows to expose a terrifying truth about a massive crime to the world. The movie also stars Nassar, Vinay Rai, Vimala Raman, Manish Chaudhari, Ravi Varma and Roshni Prakash.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna will become available for streaming on Netflix on September 24.
