Varun Tej is one of the most talented actors in Telugu cinema. Even though he comes from a mega family of stars, he has done more films that give him more scope as an actor. Varun Tej is the only actor in Telugu cinema who does films in different genres. His last film was Gandeevadhari Arjuna, a stylish action drama that was directed by Praveen Sattaru.
Sakshi Vaidya and Nasser played key roles in the film which was released in theatres on August 25, 2023. The buzz for the film was quite low as the promos did not work out for the audience. Also, the promotions of the film were low-key and not many knew a film like this was even coming out.
Praveen Sattaru showcased Gandeevadhari Arjuna like any other action drama with a routine story and jaded narration. Box office too, Gandeevadhari Arjuna slowed down after its first weekend and was out of the theatres in its first week itself.
Only the other hand, we at OTTplay were the first ones to reveal that Netflix had bought the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and the action drama will be streaming from September 25, 2023.
Well, exactly a month after its theatrical release, Gandeevadhari Arjuna is now streaming on Netflix, and fans of Varun Tej are thrilled to see him again. We also reported that a few minutes in the second half were trimmed for the digital screening and the same has happened.
The failure of Gandeevadhari Arjuna has not stopped Varun from signing big films as she has launched his new film, Makta. The period drama is being directed by Karuna Kumar and will go on floors by the end of this year.
As of now, Varun Tej is busy with the preparation of his wedding. He is all set to tie the knot to actress Lavanya Tripathi and the wedding will be held in Italy in November. Preparations have begun as the couple were also spotted at designer Manish Malhotra's store in Hyderabad the other day.
