Fans of Puneeth Rajkumar are waiting with bated breath to bid an emphatic goodbye to their favourite superstar. Much to their delight, the late actor will make his final on-screen appearance as himself in the documentary Gandhada Gudi which releases in cinema halls on October 28. As the countdown for this grand occasion continues, all the many million fans were treated to a rather special surprise when they received a message from the Powerstar himself!

Yes, ahead of the release on October 27, team PRK took to social media to welcome all the moviegoers to the cinema halls and did so through a tweet that was sent out from Puneeth Rajkumar's official Twitter account. Incidentally, the latest tweet comes almost exactly after the gap of one year as the account remained defunct since Puneeth's tragic passing in 2021: the actor-producer had last used his Twitter handle on October 29, 2021 (the day of his passing) to wish the team of Bhajarangi 2 before the film's release.

For obvious reasons, the sight of a message from Puneeth Rajkumar's official handle caught netizens off guard at first but it soon transcended to become an emotional moment for many of them.

"For a second thought it was you appu, missing you so much Appu, love for u always until last breath ❤" wrote one user.

"I was surprised to see a tweet from his account after a year. I thought it was Appu sir himself who sent out the message... How I wish this could come true," wrote another.

Puneeth Rajkumar, aged 46, succumbed to a cardiac arrest on October 29, 2021, leaving the entire nation reeling from grief and shock. Considering his impeccable legacy as both an actor and a philanthropist, the government of Karnataka bestowed him with full state honours during his funeral. Many celebrities from south India came down to Bengaluru to pay their respects to Puneeth Rajkumar.
