Gandhi - Godse Ek Yudh: Rajkumar Santoshi announces his yet another controversial film

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is known for making society-driven, impacting and well as fun and entertaining films such as Damini, Lajja, Andaz Apna Apna, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and more. After 9 years of hiatus, the movie-maker is back on the director's chair with Gandhi - Godse Ek Yudh. 

Santoshi announced his upcoming venture with a unique video that begins with featuring the names of some of his hit and watch-worthy as well as national award-winning films such as Damini, Ghatak, Ghayal, Andaz Apna Apna, Pukar, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani, Lajja, China Gate, Khakhee and The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

The montage further flashes a statement on the screen that says, "Brings to you the biggest war of ideologies. A Historic film on a historical day."

The video further unviels the name of the film - 'Gandhi - Godse Ek Yudh.'

An official statement from the makers says, "The film depicts the war of two extremely opposite ideologies between Mahatma Gandhi and Nathuram Godse. The makers dropped a video to announce the film and it’s all set to intrigue the masses to watch the trailer as well as the film. (sic)."

The upcoming drama film is backed by Manila Santoshi under the banner of Santoshi Productions LLP and PVR Pictures.

The makers shared the trailer of the official Instagram handle of PVR Pictures as well with a special caption that reads, "A legendary Filmmaker & National Award-winning director, #RajkumarSantoshi, returns with #GandhiGodseEkYudh on #RepublicDay! 🇮🇳 Let the war of ideologies begin from 26th January 2023 in cinemas near you. (Sic)."

AR Rahman is the music composer for Gandhi - Godse Ek Yudh, which is slated to release theatrically on January 26, 2023.
