Gandhi Talks on OTT: Tentative streaming date of Vijay Sethupathi-Aravind Swami silent film is here

Three years after its premiere at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, filmmaker Kishor Panduranga Belekar’s silent film Gandhi Talks hit theatres on January 30, 2026. Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Aravind Swami and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead, and featuring music by AR Rahman, the film had opened to mixed reviews, but had the comfort of having landed a digital streaming deal prior to the theatrical release.

Zee5 had picked the streaming rights of Gandhi Talks and while a premiere date has not been officially announced, the buzz on social media is that it will land on the platform within the 30-day mark. Kishor’s film is an exploration of the corrupt power of money – hard cash bearing the image of the father of the nation trumps everything. It revolves around the characters played by Vijay and Aravind, one a man who cannot land a job because he can’t afford a bribe and the other a more affluent one whose world is crumbling owing to corruption. What happens when their worlds collide is the central crux of Gandhi Talks.

Also starring Siddharth Jadhav, Mahesh Manjrekar, Usha Nadkarni and Priyadarshini Indalkar, Gandhi Talks, written by Kishor, features cinematography by Karan B Rawat. The film has a run-time of 130 minutes. Following the film’s release, netizens remained widely divided about the impact, with some praising the performances, while others found the silence irritating.
