Director Sundar C, whose last two films, Aranmanai 4 and Madha Gaja Raja are commercial successes, is gearing up for his next release Gangers. Scheduled to release on April 24, the film stars Sundar C and Vadivelu in the leading roles, with Catherine Tresa also in supporting role. With only a few days for the film’s release, Sundar is promoting Gangers, and answered as to the most kept criticism on his films about glamour. Here is what he has to say.

Sundar C on the glamour criticism kept on his films

In a recent interview, Sundar C was asked about his opinion on the criticism that is kept on him; that is his films having more glamour. To this, the filmmaker said that his target audience are children and families.

"There are no double meaning dialogues, vulgar lyrics. The heroines might be glamourous, but the angle is important. You can show someone in saree in a wrong angle; by keeping the camera above or below is she is wearing a gown. That is vulgarity and I never do that type of things. I only try to shoot beautifully,” he added.

He also said that his films do not have rape scenes or special item numbers. When pointed out the case of Aranmanai 4, Sundar C said, "It is part of promotions. But I have never forced item songs, such as in which a woman is dancing in a club for a man.”

Sundar C’s Madha Gaja Raja is yet to get on OTT, but you can stream his other films like London , Winner and Kalakalappu on SunNXT. The filmmaker, who is known for commercial potboilers, also made the social drama Sathyame Sivam / Anbe Sivam, starring Kamal Haasan and Madhavan in lead roles.
