Gangers, the 2025 Tamil film starring actor-filmmaker Sundar C alongside Vadivelu in the lead roles, has made its OTT debut. You can stream the commercial potboiler on Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi along with Kannada and Malayalam. Quick after the success of Madha Gaja Raja, Sundar C’s yet another commercial entertainer released in April, but failed to win over the audience as much as the festive release did. But after its streaming debut, did Gangers do well among the audience? Let’s find out.
Actor and filmmaker Sundar C’s Madha Gaja Raja released in theatres for this Pongal. The film, which had waited for release for 12 years, came as a surprise and won over the audience to become the first commercial success in 2025 Tamil cinema. The filmmaker then released his next film, Gangers, which stars Sundar C and Vadivelu in the lead roles.
Here is what netizens have to say about Gangers after its OTT release. Most of them gave lukewarm responses to the film and called it ‘Logic less fun filled entertainer’, while another social media user who completed the first half said, ‘Waiting for Comedy Scenes continues!’
The comical duo, who are known for their films like London, Winner, reunited for Gangers, which is now streaming on Prime Video. The film also features actors Catherine Tresa, Munishkanth, Bagavathi Perumal, among others. Gangers has a screenplay and dialogues by Venkatt Raghavan, with music by C. Sathya. The technical crew also includes E. Krishnasamy cranking the camera and editor Praveen Antony.
Sundar C is next working on the sequel of Mookuthi Amman, a devotional drama, which will have actor Nayanthara reprise the titular character. The film is produced by Vels Film International and also stars Kannada actor Duniya Vijay making his debut in Tamil and plays the antagonist. Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ramachandra Raju, Ajay Ghosh, Singam Puli, Vichu Viswanath, Iniya, Mynaa Nandini, and others are also part of the film.
