Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was released on February 25 with a positive response from the audience. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial also marked itself in the 100 crore club. As the filmmaker is known for his 'larger than life' set designs and the attention to detail in them, the makers have released a special BTS video from the biographical drama movie that showcases how Bhansali and the crew members brought the 1950s Kamathipura to life after 70 years.

The latest video begins with the Haider fame production designer duo Amit Ray and Subrata Chakraborty, who mentions that the filmmaker briefed them that the film is going to be quite realistic. The set designers also unveiled that they took tours of Kamathipura a few times before starting building the set. "Sir's (Bhansali) briefing always used to be very clear," says Subrata.

Meanwhile, Alia adds that the filmmaker is a magician and she always calls him a magician. "It's not only a scene and lines and a move from point A to point B and say your dialogue. It's not that. Everything has a purpose. He (Bhansali) only eats, breathes, drinks, thinks about his movie. And that just automatically happens on his set when you are around. It's like everything is about his vision," says the Bollywood diva.

She further mentions that the first time she walked into the lanes of Kamathipura was literally on the set and she was just mesmerised by everything including the attention to detail on the set about every shop and the cinema that is situated in Kamathipura. The Brahmastra actress adds that it was magical for her.

We bring to you the world of Kamathipura, this time through the lens of the filmmaker himself, #SanjayLeelaBhansali (sic)."

Apart from Alia, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which also has Ajay Devgn, Shantanu Maheshwari, Seema Pahwa and Jim Sarbh in important roles, is set to have a digital release on Netflix and Zee5 on April 26.
