Alia Bhatt has been gathering praises from around the world following the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s biographical drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi. The latest star to laud her performance is her beau, Ranbir Kapoor.
In a recent chat with NDTV, the actor was asked if he was a consumer of OTT content and also about his recent watchlist. “Among movies, I watched Gangubai. Alia just whacked it out of the park. So proud of her. And I've seen how much she gave to that film..in the process of making it,” he said.
The actor also said that he saw what the actor gave to play the role during the film’s making and that Alia deserves every bit of success and love that is coming her way.
The actor also added that he watched Ranveer Singh’s ’83 and is dying to watch Rajamouli’s RRR, but got busy with shooting for his own films.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor recently wrapped up the filming of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra after five years. The sci-fi movie, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni, is one of the most anticipated Indian movies.
Alia has received a lot of plaudits for her performance as Ganga Jagjivandas aka Gangubai Kathiawadi in her recent movie.
“She has shut down the naysayers who said she looked miscast in every frame of the film. The actor took up the challenge and has passed with flying colours while wearing white for 98% of the film,” reads the movie’s review on OTTPlay.
