One of Bollywood's most adored actresses is Alia Bhatt. Her acting prowess and movies speak for itself. The actress just entered a new stage of life after giving birth to her daughter Raha Bhatt Kapoor. She had a fantastic year in both her personal and professional lives last year. Alia has accomplished everything, including starring in a blockbuster, getting married, and giving birth to her first child with husband Ranbir Kapoor. Speaking of her successful movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, it has been out for one year now. The actress posted a lovely photo of herself and the movie's director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, to mark the occasion.

The actor-director duo can be seen twinning in white in the picture that Alia posted on her Instagram account. Alia looks stunning as she is spotted donning a white satin blazer. She has kept her hair open and added a white pearl earring to complete her ensemble. On the other hand, SLB can be seen in a white cotton kurta and stands next to the actress while holding her. Sharing this picture, Alia wrote, “One year of our Gangu #gangubaizindabad #ganguwalasafed.”

Last year, Gangubai was released in theatres and grossed over 100 crore. At the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival last year, the movie received its world premiere.

In the movie, Alia Bhatt portrayed Gangubai Kathiawadi, a young prostitute who works as a sex worker in Mumbai's Kamathipura. Her experience as a leader of Kamathipura and the proprietor of a brothel was shown in the movie. This was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first endeavour with Alia Bhatt. The actress and the director were set to collaborate on the movie Inshallah, which also starred Salman Khan. But the project got shelved.
