Gangubai Kathiawadi week 3 Box Office collection: Alia Bhatt’s film inches closer to Rs 120 crore mark, likely to beat Raazi

Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has managed to stay afloat even in its third week. The movie has even come closer to Rs. 120 crore mark at the Box Office. This means that the Alia Bhatt starrer is likely to beat the actress’ own movie, Raazi’s Box Office.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial minted Rs. 16.40 crores on week three. The Friday numbers of the film are yet to be revealed but it is likely that the movie did stay in the range of earning Rs. 1 crore at the Box Office. If it did, then the movie has already collected approximately Rs. 119 crores.

The movie minted a total of Rs. 117.75 crores at the Box Office at the end of week three. Alia’s film has been seeing a constant drop week-on-week. More so, it is dropping to more than half the Box Office collections of the previous week. While it started off week one earning Rs. 66.72 crores, by the second week it minted Rs. 34.63 crores. By week three, the collection further dropped to Rs. 16.40 crores. However, it is only normal for a film to perform slower week-on-week and so, Gangubai Kathiawadi doesn’t have much to worry about in that aspect.

In fact, if it does manage to cross Rs. 120 crores, Alia will be beating her own film aka Raazi’s Box Office collection. Gangubai Kathiawadi also released at a time when Box Office had hit an all-time low. The movie, in a way, gave a boost to the Box Office collections, according to a report on Box Office India.

While Gangubai Kathiawadi is inching closer to Rs. 120 crore mark, the movie did face huge competition from two movies that are currently going neck-to-neck in the Box Office game. The movies happen to be Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, which released on March 11 and Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey, which released on March 18. Since there is an audience demand for both the movies, Gangubai Kathiawadi could suffer at the Box Office and it could probably go off screens by the weekend.

Meanwhile, the makers have not yet announced the OTT release of Gangubai Kathiawadi. The movie will reportedly release on Netflix. It is likely to be available for streaming from April.
