Alia Bhat's Gangubai Kathiawadi is the most talked-about film in the country right now. Not only fans but the critics are praising each and every aspect of the film as well. The crime-drama movie hit the theatres last Friday and recorded a ₹10.5 Cr opening on its first day. While on Saturday and Sunday, it went up and above with the collections of ₹13.32 cr and ₹15.3 cr respectively, which makes the film's total box office collection on its first weekend around ₹39.12 cr.

An official IG page of Bhansali Productions shared the news about their weekend box office collection with a poster of the film that features Alia and the Gangubai Kathiawadi's earnings so far.

The caption reads, "CHAND KA SHUKRIYA THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE BOOK TICKETS NOW: Link in bio #GangubaiKathiawadi, IN CINEMAS NOW (sic)."

The Bollywood actress has been seen overwhelmed with the response of movie-goers. She has been doing rounds of the theatres in Mumbai to meet her fans herself. Alia can be seen taking a tour of the city in a giant customised vehicle.

Apart from Alia, the audience and critics have loved the cameo appearance of Ajay Devgn as Rahim Lala and Shantanu Maheshwari's performance in his debut film. Fans have especially appreciated the Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa as well as Jim Sarbh's supporting characters in the movie.

Produced by Jayantilal Gada and Bhansali under the banners of Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited, the crime-drama movie premiered at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival before its official release.
