This series is an anthology that follows the lives and reigns of five of West Bengal's most feared 'enemies of the people': serial killers and gangsters who spread terror in every corner of the state.
The first episode depicts the story of Sajal Barui (played by Ayush Das). He was infamous for murdering his own father, stepmother, and stepbrother. He committed the crimes around Kolkata, Asansol, West Midnapore, and Mumbai from 1993 to 2011.
The second episode shows Kamaruzzaman Sarkar, aka Chainman's story (played by Debapriyo Mukherjee). He was called Chainman during his crime in Bardhaman from 2013 - 2019. The serial killer targeted and murdered at least nine women and sexually assaulted several.
The third episode portrays the story of Trailokya Tarini. She was India's first female serial killer (played by Paoli Dam). The period of his crimes was from 1860 to 1884, during the British colonial period in India. Her story has become the subject of true-crime analysis, literature, and television series, primarily focusing on her transformation from a Brahmin widow and sex worker to a calculating murderer.
In the fourth episode, the series depicted the story of Rashid Khan, aka Satta King (played by Subrata Dutta). His period of crime was 1970 - 1993. He was a central figure in the 1993 Bowbazar bomb blast case, in which 69 people were killed. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for his role in the incident.
The fifth episode portrays the crime story of Shyamal Das, aka Hubba Shyamal (played by Rudranil Ghosh). During 1976 - 2011, he was infamous due to his extensive criminal activities and influence in the local underworld. Later, his decomposed body was found floating in a canal in Baidyabati, Hooghly district, having been brutally stabbed and disfigured.
Ganoshotru features Paoli Dam, Rudranil Ghosh, Ayush Das, Debopriyo Mukherjee, and Subrat Dutta. The film is directed by Srimanta Senguptta, Modhura Palit, Sayan Dasgupta, Abhirup Ghosh, and Samik Roy Chowdhury. The film is edited by Amit Pal, and Udayan D has done the music. The showrunner of the series is Srimanta Senguptta, and it is produced by Bangla Talkies.
