Buoyed by the positive response for his new political thriller series Garmi, actor-director Tigmanshu Dhulia is now getting ready for his upcoming projects. Next, the National Award-winning filmmaker will be joining hands with Amit Saxena - who has produced the Pushan Kripalani-directed film Goldfish, starring Kalki Koechlin, Deepti Naval, Rajit Kapoor. As many as three films/series are expected to come out of the new collaboration between Splendid Films and Tigmanshu Dhulia Productions LLP.

Speaking about the new collaboration with Amit, Tigmanshu says, “I look forward to partnering with Amit and Splendid Films. Together, we want to create content that is entertaining and appeals to a global audience across geographies.”

A National School of Drama graduate, Tigmanshu has helmed critically acclaimed movies and series like Paan Singh Tomar, Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster, The Great Indian Murder and Haasil, while his performance in Gangs of Wasseypur also garnered a lot of attention. Did you know, Tigmanshu was the casting director for Bandit Queen and he also wrote the dialogues for Dil Se..?

Streaming on Sony LIV, Garmi follows the journey of a civil service aspirant, named Arvind Shukla, who gets engulfed in college politics, powerplay and crime while pursuing his goals. The nine-episode series has an ensemble cast - featuring Vyom Yadav, Puneet Singh, Veeneet Kumar, Jatin Goswami, Pankaj Saraswat, Anushka Sharma, Ashish Virendra Chowdhary, Jatin Sarin ,Deepraj Rana, Mukesh Tiwari and Disha Thakur in pivotal roles. 

Meanwhile, the story of Splendid Films’ maiden project Goldfish is set in London, and it deals with memory and identity. The movie had its World Premiere at the 2023 Busan International Film Festival. Goldfish is scheduled to hit the theatres in July this year.
