A new web series, Garmi, is all set to be released soon. Ahead of the release, the producer of the show, Hemal Thakkar, opened up about collaborating with National Award-winning filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Hemal has produced the show along with Swaroop Sampat under the Playtime Creationn banner.
Talking about producing the show and what makes the project special, Hemal said, "Garmi is a special show in many ways for us, as it is our foray into the OTT world. We have a wonderful cast of young actors who have given their heart and soul to the series, and the result is overwhelming. Tigmanshu, I, and the entire team are very happy with the outcome and can’t wait to show it to the audience."
Hemal is also a writer, director, producer, and actor who has made a mark in the television industry. He has produced hit TV series like Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Teen Bahuraniyaan. He has acted in films like Oh My God and Welcome Home.
The story of Garmi revolves around a young college student named Arvind Shukla, who moves from a small town to a big city for higher studies, with a lot of fire in his belly. The series progresses to show how he gradually gets into politics inside and outside college. Even though he goes to a big city to become a civil servant, he finds himself caught in power plays and the life of crime.
Arvind is played by young actor Vyom Yadav, who was earlier seen in films like Badhaai Do. He has also starred in Delhi Crime.
Garmi has an ensemble star of Mukesh Tiwari, Vineet Kumar, Pankaj Saraswat, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, Puneet Singh, Anurag Thakur, Anushka Kaushik, Disha Thakur, and Dheerendra Gautam, among others.
The show will stream on the OTTplay app and on SonyLIV starting April 21.
