Gaurav Khanna reacts to rumours about him leaving Anupamaa: 'I've full trust in Rajan Shahi's vision for Anuj'

Actors Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna have shared a remarkable chemistry in Anupamaa and that is a core reason for the TV viewers tuning in to watch the show. However, recent rumours hinting that Gaurav's character Anuj Kapadia, who is Anupama's love interest, would die has left several fans disappointed.

The show's teaser, which became a talking point on social media among its viewers, showed Anuj in coma while Anupamaa was fighting the Kapadias and Shahs. In a recent interview with ETimes, Gaurav responded to reports of him leaving the show helmed by Rajan Shahi.

"I will just say that I am completely dedicated to Anupamaa and I have full trust in Rajan Shahi's version of Anuj. I am fully committed to the show," he said.

Gaurav also commented on the lack of screen time allotted to him on the show. "When the character was narrated to me, I knew this character was going to be different from what audiences have been watching on TV so far. That's why Anuj Kapadia's role became so dear to people," he said.

Gaurav also explained that he has been in the industry for years now and understands how unique this programme is. He also highlighted how an actor gets the opportunity to portray an iconic character on TV only once or twice in a lifetime and he is grateful for playing Anuj.

Anupamaa airs Monday through Saturday at 10 pm on Star Plus and can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. Actors Madalsa Sharma, Sudhanshu Pandey, Nidhi Shah, and several others are also part of the show.
