Television actress Gauri Pradhan is back on screen after a five-year sabbatical. The actress has now featured in Yogesh Verma’s A Winter Tale at Shimla, with an ensemble cast including Indraneil Sengupta, Deepraj Rana, Rituraj Singh, Niharika Chouksey, among others. Known for her television shows, Kutumb and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Gauri has now revealed the challenges that she faced in her television career which earned her the reputation of being a snob.

When asked to respond to Radhika Madan’s statement about the tedious work schedules of television serials, Gauri responded in affirmative and went down memory lane to reveal her experience from the sets of Kutumb.

Gauri said that her punctual and disciplined nature did not go well with the scheduler and earned her the title of ‘being difficult to work with’. She said, "Yes, I had fights every day with the scheduler. That was very common… I was known for coming on time and leaving on time. In Kutumb, I used to wear a wig for my long hair. So at 9 pm, everyone would start looking at each other because at 9 ‘o’ clock, I would just take off the wig, give it, and leave in the middle of the shot also because if I have come on time I earn the right to leave on time."  She further added that she was known to be a big snob, snooty, very difficult to work with.

Gauri also spoke about the zero work-life balance that the television actors have. “This is all you are doing! I am not complaining, but you are only shooting. There is no social life, there is no family life, there is no me time, there is nothing. You go home, you eat and then you come back the next morning so it’s tough.”

While talking about career in movies, the actress revealed that acting in a movie is like cakewalk. “When you do a television show, even if you do one show for a long time, and then you do a movie, it’s like cake walk. It’s like you are on a holiday. It’s so easy and breezy that there is no issue…,” she elaborated.

After making her television acting debut with Noor Jahan, Gauri gained popularity with Ekta Kapoor’s show Kutumb, where she fell in love with her now husband Hiten Tejwani. She became a household name after playing the role of Nandini Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s yet another television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She was last seen in Colors TV show Tu Aashiqui.
