The shoot for Silambarasan's Pathu Thala has been wrapped up and the makers are busy with the post-production. The film, which is a remake of the Kannada crime thriller Mufti, stars Silambarasan, Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Gautham recently shared a picture from the set of Pathu Thala along with his co-star Simbu, which set the internet on fire.

In the picture, Gautham and Simbu are seen looking at the camera even as Simbu seems to be appreciating Gautham. Gautham captioned the picture stating that he had never seen a more genuine person than Simbu in his life. He wrote, "I've never met a more genuine human being in my life. Sincere about his craft! Impressively creative at work and more importantly, unafraid to show how he truly feels. Truly a pleasure working @SilambarasanTR_ annan! #PathuThala (sic). Interestingly, this is the first time that Gautham Karthik is teaming up with Silambarasan.

The shoot for the film had been delayed as Silambarasan had to attend to his father, actor and director T Rajendher, who was undergoing medical treatment in the US. The film's director Obeli N Krishna, had recently shared a picture from the set in which Silambarasan is seen in a dance number. The song is choreographed by Sandy Master and has music by AR Rahman. The film is gearing up to release early 2023.

In the meantime, Simbu's recent release Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu directed by Gautham Menon has completed 50 days at the box office. The first part of the duology, titled Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling revolved around the journey of Muthu, a youngster from a remote village in Tuticorin, who goes to Mumbai in the quest for a better life and ends up becoming a dreaded gangster. The film marks Siddhi Idnani's debut as the leading lady in Tamil.
