Gautham Menon reveals he almost rejected Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, but Lokesh Kanagaraj prevailed

The much-awaited Tamil movie Leo is set to hit the theaters soon. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring superstar Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, the film has been generating buzz among fans and critics alike.

Recently, in an interview, Gautham Menon revealed his experience working on the film and how he got convinced to play an important role in the movie. Despite his initial reluctance, Gautham finally agreed to do the role due to his admiration for Lokesh and his persistence.

"I accepted this movie only because of Lokesh," Gautham said, "He asked me for Vikram, but I couldn't do it. He told me, 'sir, you're the first person I am calling you right after signing this movie. You are playing a very important character in this movie."

Gautham also spoke about the character he is playing and how it travels along with Vijay's character. "And he kept sending me reminders during the pre-production phase. And I couldn't say no. I like Lokesh, his ideology and the things he talks about," he added.

Furthermore, Gautham revealed that working with Vijay was a great opportunity for him. "I also got an opportunity to interact with Vijay sir," he said.

The production of Leo went on the floors earlier this year. The filmmakers began shooting the film in Kashmir . After shooting in the valley region extensively for over 50 days, the cast and crew returned to Chennai. Earlier, Lokesh revealed that there were about 50 days of shooting pending, following which the post-production will begin. 

Besides Vijay and Gautham, Leo boasts of an ensemble cast, including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin and Mansoor Ali Khan.

Leo is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited movies of 2023. The movie is due in cinemas on October 19.
