It has already been reported that the Star Jalsha serial Geeta LLB will be remade in Hindi. In the latest update regarding Snehasish Chakraborty's mega, there will be a Bengali actress to play the lead in the serial. Meanwhile, Hiya Mukherjee won the audience's hearts for her portrayal of Geeta in the ongoing Bengali version of the serial.
Shritama Mitra, who played Doel in the serial Mon Dite Chai, will play Geeta in Hindi. Right now, the shooting is stalled due to the clash between the channel and the Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern.
Meanwhile, the male lead's name has also been known. The newcomer Kunal Shil plays the lead in the Bengali serial. In the Hindi version, an established actor will be seen in the role. Ankit Raizada is playing the lead and he has already arrived in Kolkata for the shooting.
Ankit was previously seen in serials like Jodha Akbar and Rab Se Hai Dua. Now he will play the lead. Tollywood actors like Bhaswar Chatterjee and Asim Mukherjee will also be seen in the serial. Veteran actress Shakuntala Barua will also play a pivotal role in the serial. The Bengali version of Geeta LLB also streams on Disney+ Hotstar.
Jagaddhatri and Geeta LLB, both made by Blues Productions, are winning people's hearts. Snehasish Chakraborty started his new journey with Geeta's Hindi remake. The shooting started on Monday. But after half a day's work, the cast and crew left the set. It was heard that the incident happened at the Federation's order.
Swarup Biswas, on behalf of the Federation, said that the channels were showing episodes of new and old serials on the OTTs. It makes a profit for the channels, but the industry incurs loss. Swarup told Anandabazar 'Other channels discussed the issue with Federation, except the channel for which Snehasish is working.' Swarup put the condition that the new Hindi serial would not be shown on OTT. Shooting will be permitted only after a written guarantee is available.
