Geetha Bharati Bhat’s tale of a designer blouse - Ravike Prasanga - aims for a July release

Former TV star and Bigg Boss Kannada contestant, Geetha Bharati Bhat, who was last seen in Mankubhai Foxy Rani, along with Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 winner Roopesh Shetty, has finished work on her next, a comic drama called Ravike Prasanga, directed by Santhosh Kodenkeri. Based on a story by Santhosh’s wife Pavana, the film is currently in post-production and the filmmaker is hopeful of bringing it to theatres latest by July this year.

The film, says Santhosh, revolves around Geetha’s character Sanvi, who fixates on a particular designer blouse as part of her chosen outfit to meet a prospective groom. “When her efforts to get it stitched at a reasonable price fall flat, she decides to rely on the local tailor in her village, who, in turn, promises to stitch the exact same design she asked for. All that she had to focus on was on trying to get in shape to wear the blouse of her dreams. On the day she is then supposed to meet the boy, though, she is unable to do so, which turns out to be the tailor’s fault, so she decides to take him to task by suing him. From thereon, the film becomes a courtroom drama, as the events that happened between Sanvi and the tailor are revealed, which becomes fodder for gossip for the entire village. Throughout it all, Sanvi is supported by her father,” explains the filmmaker.

Besides Geetha, the film also stars Suman Ranganath, Rakesh Maiya, Sampath Maitreya, Padmaja Rao, Kushi Achar, Hanumantha Rao, Praveen Atharva, among others. Produced by Santhosh’s Drusti Media and Productions, Ravike Prasanga, according to the filmmaker is an attempt at presenting a female-centric tale in a funny and commercial manner.
