Gehraiyaan: Siddhant Chaturvedi opens up about the ‘talk’ his father had with him after watching the film

Ever since its release last month Gehraiyaan has been the centre of a lot of conversation among cinephiles. Although the film generated some polarising responses for its story, the stellar performances of the cast was appreciated by most people. Siddhant Chaturvedi, who starred in the film, recently opened up about a hilarious exchange he had with his father about the film.

In conversation with Janice Sequeira, the actor talked about how he had watched the film with his parents, and afterwards his father had come into his room saying he wanted to have a conversation about it. Chaturvedi had hilariously dodged the situation by remarking that he was going to sleep. He also said that they had not talked about it since. “Arrey kuch hai matlab lihaaz kuch hota hai na, kuch daayre hote hain matlab,” he added.

But despite the awkwardness, his parents were supportive of his acting career, as Chaturvedi went on to talk of how they loved the fact that he was doing something he wanted to do since he was a child. He also joked that even his neighbours, the ones who previously advised him to do CA, had come around in full support of his acting as well.

In addition to Chaturvedi, Gehraiyaan also features Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa,Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor. The film was bankrolled under the banners of Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Jouska Films. The film was directed by Shakun Batra, who also wrote the script along with Sumit Roy and Ayesha Devitre.
