Gehraiyaan: Siddhant Chaturvedi underwent many trials and errors to portray the character Zain

Gehraiyaan is one of the most-awaited films of the year and not because of the stellar cast that it has but also for its one-of-a-kind story and unique characters. The trailer of the upcoming romantic drama film, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday was out recently and the audience hasn't been able to contain the excitement ever since.

The three actors portray different interesting characters who seem to be on a journey of self-discovery as they navigate their lives through ups and downs. Portraying such complex characters isn't easy. An artist is always surrounded by thoughts and imagination about the character and the handsome hunk Siddhant Chaturvedi's character of Zain in the film wasn't that easy to reach. Many trials and errors and tough preparations were needed to build the character. 

The actor went through several processes like writing notes to unfolding his way of romance to get into the shoes of the character. Talking about his preparation for the character of Zain, Siddhant recently said to a leading daily, "I started by writing notes in a diary as Zain, and most of them were rejected by Shakun. That’s when I realized that having grown up on a diet of Bollywood romantic films. I was conditioned to see romance in a certain way.” Seems like the actor is about to create a new face of romance on screen." 

Moreover, an actor also needs to understand the vision of the director and portray the character which is there in his mind. The birth of a character first takes place in the mind of the director before the actor lives it and nourishes it. The director is said to have introduced a different personality all together to Siddhant and pushed him beyond his imagination to portray him. The actor added, "Shakun made me see beyond all the gloss and glamour. He showed me a mirror which was so human, intimate, and nuanced.” All these details have only amped up the excitement to see the actor portray a different kind of romance on screen now.

Gehraiyaan is scheduled to release on February 11 on Amazon Prime Videos. Directed by Shakun Batra, it will have Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa in the leads.
