It would probably not be completely off the mark to say that Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh is quite the pro when it comes to making funny Instagram reels. In her latest clip, the Ved actress was seen mimicking what’s described as ‘great lines’ by the late comedian Raju Srivastav.
“Jo hase, uska ghar base. Aur jiska ghar base, phir pucho kabhi hase,” read the lines. Counted among the industry’s most popular couples, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh have time and again entertained their fans and followers on social media with these some hilarious Instagram Reels. The couple have two sons together Riaan and Rahyl.
On the work front, Genelia and Riteish were seen together in Marathi romantic drama film Ved, which also marked Riteish’s directorial debut. Ashok Saraf and Jiya Shankar play supporting roles in the movie, which is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film, Majili. Next, Genelia will be seen in Junior, while Riteish’s upcoming projects include Kakuda and Visfot.
Ved also marks the 35-year-old actress’ return to acting after a 10-year break. Reflecting on her journey so far, Genelia recently told Hindustan Times, “When I joined acting, it wasn’t a career option. For me, it was something that someone saw in me. As I got roles that I did, again, it was about the thing that people saw when they gave me a chance with the role. I really have not put myself in a zone that I only want to be seen like this or like that. I look at everything that has happened to me as an opportunity because I didn’t think about being an actor. The fact that I am an actor today is because of the kind of opportunities that I got.”
Speaking about her role in Ved, she said, “The role of a housewife in Ved was a new role for me on screen. I have not done this before. It is not a bubbly character, which I have done in the past. There is some sense of shyness in her. That makes me excited about the roles coming my way in this phase of my life. I’ve also seen so much and have been through so much. I think that makes you a more fulfilled actor.”
