Directed by Arjunan, a massive budget has been set aside for the VFX works for the Jayam Ravi-starrer Genie

Jayam Ravi, who has been starring in several different genres lately, will be next seen in the upcoming fantasy drama, titled Genie. As announced earlier, the film is set to be a fantasy drama, which is directed by Arjunan, who was a former assistant of director Mysskin. Now, the makers of the film have roped in PhantomFX to do the VFX and CGI works for the film, according to the latest reports.
For the uninitiated, PhantomFX had previously worked with Sivakarthikeyan-starrer sci-fi comedy Ayalaan for the CGI works. Now, the CGI company has come on board the technical team of the Jayam Ravi-starrer. As per reports, a massive budget has been allocated for the VFX works. This exciting update has left fans intrigued about what the film is set to offer the audience.
As reported earlier, Genie is set to have not one but three female leads . The film has Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead with speculations suggesting that Jayam Ravi might romance Krithi Shetty in the movie, who is 23 years junior to him. The film will have Academy Award-winning maestro A R Rahman scoring music. The camera work for the film is cranked by Mahesh Muthuswami, while Pradeep E Ragav is handling the editing. The movie is produced by Ishari Ganesh of Vels International.

Directed by Arjunan, the upcoming fantasy drama which had commenced shooting in 2023, is currently at the production stage. The film has 1 week of talkie portions and two songs to be shot, according to reports. The team has allocated ten days for each of the songs. If everything goes as planned, we can expect the film to hit the big screens soon post the election buzz.

Meanwhile, the Tamil actor's last outing Siren made decent numbers at the box office. The Ponniyin Selvan star has a couple of interesting projects in the lineup, including Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, M Rajesh directorial dramedy Brother and Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s Kadhalikka Neramillai.
