In a magical reunion that's been years in making, the beloved duo from Netflix's Uncontrollably Fond–Kim Woo-bin and Bae Suzy–are set to grace your screens once again with the highly-anticipated, Geine Make a Wish this October 2025. It's been a long eight years since the duo collaborated in Uncontrollably Fond in 2016. The interesting part is Geine, Make a Wish is also coming on Netflix, which came from the brilliant mind of Kim Eun-sook, the writer of Lee Min-ho's The Heirs, Song Hye-kyo's The Glory, and more K-dramas.
The fantasy romantic K-drama is coming on October 3, 2025 only on Netflix. Genie, Make a Wish consists of twelve episodes, making it a limited series.
The story introduces Ka-young (Bae Suzy) as a cold and emotionless woman who has always been controlled by her strict grandmother to keep her psychopathic behaviour in check. However, Ka-young's life changes when she finds a magic lamp and accidentally frees a spirit named Genie (Kim Woo-bin), who has been asleep for a thousand years. Things take a wild turn when Geine offers her three wishes, making her life turn upside down.
The story takes a dark turn when Ka-young learns that Genie is also Iblis, also known as Satan, and he's on a mission to prove that all humans are bad, making him and Ka-young fall into a whirlwind of romance, fantasy, drama, comical elements, with Genie's mischievous nature.
The upcoming K-drama started facing some criticism before its release, which is quite unexpected. According to TOI, after the teaser and motion poster was dropped, some K-drama fans sarcastically pointed out that the producers might have spend all the money on the lead actors hence such a bad promo they left for fans. Meanwhile, another commentator wrote that the teaser looks AI generated and the posters are poor materials, but still they are looking forward to the K-drama.
