After the 2020 release of Midnight Sky, veteran Hollywood star and filmmaker George Clooney is directing yet another project. The actor has been helming The Tender Bar based on the 2005 memoir of the same name by JR Moehringer. The film features Ben Affleck in the lead role along with Tye Sheridan, Lily Rabe, and Christopher Lloyd. Now, the makers have announced the theatrical as well as the OTT release date of The Tender Bar.
As per reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the Clooney directorial is slated to release in New York and Los Angeles on December 17, followed by a release on December 22, in the rest of the US. Coming to the OTT, The Tender Bar is set to be an Amazon Prime Video release and will stream from January 7, 2022.
The film features Affleck in the role of Uncle Charlie while Sheridan is playing the leading role of Moehringer. Daniel Ranieri is playing his younger version.
The first look of the film was unveiled a few hours back and it features Ben and Tye in the frame.
The makers of The Tender Bar have described the premise of the film as "A boy growing up on Long Island seeks out father figures among the patrons at his uncle's bar."
Meanwhile, Moehringer is also the executive producer of the film, whereas the adapted screenplay is by William Monahan. George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Ted Hope are the producers.
Talking about his upcoming projects, Ben will next be seen in The Last Duel directed by Ridley Scott. The actor has also penned the screenplay of the movie along with being the co-producer. The movie also features Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Jodie Comer in the lead roles. The Last Duel is scheduled to release in the US in October this year.
