Georgia Harrison, who rose to fame with the 3rd season of Love Island TV reality show in 2017, has recently opened up about her other desires, apart from the entertainment industry. While talking to The Sun, the actress has revealed that she has the support of senior Labour figures if she chooses to run in the next election. She waived her right to anonymity to speak out about her experience of violence against women and girls.

Back in April, Harrison met Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer and Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss this issue. She also attended the Labour conference in Liverpool earlier this month. She also said that she had a serious conversation with a couple of Labour MPs about the possibility of running for Essex.

Georgia Harrison told The Sun

“They told me to go away and think about it. They said if I was serious about running for an MP it is something that they would support me with.” Georgia shared, “I think also for little girls growing up seeing someone like me running for an MP would be quite inspiring. We need more normal people going into politics.”

Georgia wins Activist of the Year Award

This week, Georgia was honoured with the Activist of the Year Award at Glamour Women Awards 2023 in London. After grabbing the award, she shared her story of being a victim of image-based sexual abuse and voyeurism on stage. "It feels so magical to be standing here today accepting this award after what has been such a tough journey for me over the past few years”, she told the audience.
