Ghaati was one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema as it brought back the magical combination of Anushka Shetty and Krish Jagarlamudi to the big screen after the success of Veda. The action drama also featured Vikram Prabhu, who made his Telugu debut.
Ghaati day 1 box office collections
However, the buzz around the film was not very strong, as Anushka Shetty did not promote it at all. This clearly affected the openings and collections. On Day 1, the film managed to collect only ₹2 crore worldwide in Telugu, which is disappointing considering Anushka’s stardom. If the film had opened well, this figure could have easily come just from Telangana, but that was not the case.
Interestingly, a low-budget film called Little Hearts, starring a YouTuber in the lead, fared better than Ghaati on its opening day. With the weekend ahead, Ghaati needs to pick up momentum; otherwise, the makers will face heavy losses.
Krish earlier made headlines for walking out of the Pawan Kalyan starrer Harihara Veeramallu due to repeated delays and script changes. Ghaati, being his original work, was expected to deliver, but unfortunately, the routine narration has failed to impress audiences.

The film tells the story of a drug-peddling couple who seek redemption and try to save their clan. But the second half was narrated in a disappointing manner, eventually making the film a flop at the box office.
