Ghani release date: Makers of Varun Tej's sports drama share update on its premiere

Varun Tej is gearing up to deliver his latest silver screen knockout on a slightly different date. The makers of Tej’s upcoming sports drama, Ghani, have unveiled the new dates on which they plan to release the film. The film will now be released either on February 25 or March 4.

The news was announced on the official Twitter handle of Renaissance Pictures, the banner producing the film. The makers also mentioned that they would finalise one of the two release dates, depending on the schedule of release of other films. The film, which had gone on floors almost two years ago, had witnessed several delays in its release, some of which was also caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The upcoming sports drama will star Tej and Saiee Manjrekar in lead roles. The two will share the screen with seasoned stars such as Naveen Chandra, Naresh, Jagapathi Babu, Suneil Shetty, Nadhiya and Upendra, among others.

Ghani is the directorial debut of Kiran Korrapati, who has also served as the film’s writer. The film is bankrolled by Sidhu Mudda and Allu Bobby under the banners of Renaissance Pictures and Allu Bobby Company. The movie’s soundtrack has been scored by S Thaman. George C. Williams and Marthand K Venkatesh serve as the film’s cinematographer and editor respectively. The streaming rights of the film have been acquired by the Telugu OTT platform aha.

Meanwhile, Tej is also awaiting the release of his film, F3, the sequel to 2019’s F2. Anil Ravipudi returns to direct the sequel, which will see Tej share the screen with Venkatesh and Tamannaah.
