Ghannu Bhai: Indie musician Aditya Gangasani turns an actor; makers take a sly dig at Double iSmart

Aditya Gangasani, who shot to fame with his indie music videos on Youtube including Hum Hain Hyderabadi, Gannu Bhai, Bhai Bolte, Vegas Kaaka and others, is now gearing up for his big-screen debut. His first film as an actor too is incidentally named after his popular music video Ghannu Bhai. A first-time director Pranay Myakal is helming the film, officially announced today.

Abhishek Nama under the renowned banner Abhishek Pictures is bankrolling the film. The first poster of the film, confirming the release date was out this evening. “Exciting announcement! Here is the mind-blowing first look of GHANNU BHAI - ISMARt ka BAPp, introducing the immensely talented Aditya Gangasani! Get ready to be blown away on 8th March, 2024,” the makers wrote.

In the first poster, Aditya, sporting brown coloured shades with a stubble and blonde hairstyle, dons a colourful shirt and is seen beating drums. However, it’s the caption - iSmart Ka Bapp - that catches you by surprise. Did the makers take a sly dig at Puri Jagannadh’s iSmart Shankar? Or was it done merely to establish Aditya’s character from the film? We’ll know soon.

Devansh Nama is presenting the film which will hit theatres on the same day as Puri Jagannadh’s pan-Indian entertainer Double iSmart. Abhe has been roped in as the music director for the project while Gokul Bharathi is the cinematographer. Amar Reddy Kudumula is the editor and Gandhi Nadikudikar is the production designer. Mohit Rawlyani is the executive producer.

The details surrounding the female lead, other actors and shoot details will be out shortly. Going by the poster, the film promises to be a rustic entertainer will local humour and an impressive dose of music. Abhishek Pictures’ other projects include the direct-to-OTT release Prema Vimanam (Zee5), periodic action thriller Devil starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Samyuktha, Malvika Nair.
