Ghost OTT release date confirmed: When, where to watch this Shivarajkumar's action thriller

Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar's latest movie Ghost is geared up for its digital debut this week. The movie will start streaming on Zee5 on November 17, less than a month after its initial theatrical release. 

Young filmmaker M. G. Srinivas has written and directed Ghost. And he seems to have infused the sleek action thriller with youthful exuberance, which is evident in terms of the movie's scale and scope. 

Ghost was released in theatres on October 19 amid a lot of fanfare. The film also faced a massive challenge at the box office as the highly-anticipated movie Leo, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, was also released on the same day.

Many fans even expressed displeasure about Ghost getting fewer screens than Leo in Bengaluru. Yet, the Shivarajkumar starrer managed to brave the Leo juggernaut at the box office and emerged as a commercial hit. 

Shivarajkumar jumped on the bandwagon of the 'pan-India' release with Ghost. He went across the country promoting the movie as it was released in multiple languages. His stardom received a big boost recently, thanks to his cameo in Superstar Rajinikanth's latest blockbuster Jailer. His new-found popularity with theatre-going audiences in different parts of the country added momentum to the movie's pre-release excitement. 

Following its theatrical debut, Ghost received mixed reactions from critics. However, it seemingly didn't stop the movie from making profits for its stakeholders.

"Ghost is quite the thrilling two-hour ride and could just be the Dasara winner Kannada cinema has been looking for. It is, no doubt, meant for audiences who love fast-paced thrillers, punchlines, etc," read the OTTplay's 3.5-star review. 

Ghost is touted as a fast-paced action drama. It revolves around a hostage situation masterminded by Shivarajkumar's Dalavayi Muddanna, a dreaded crime boss, who goes by the street name Big Daddy. 

Besides Shivarajkumar, Ghost also stars Jayaram, Anupam Kher, Prashant Narayanan, Satya Prakash, and Archana Jois.
