Ghost release: Groove to hit Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar and Puneeth numbers

The celebrations for the release of Century Star Shivarajkumar’s Ghost are set to begin later tonight. The film, directed by actor-filmmaker MG Srinivas, will have one fan show at midnight tonight, which will end in the early hours of October 19. Subsequently, a handful of early morning shows have been opened up, but the actual box office campaign begins at around 10 am. Distributor Jayanna of Jayanna Films has, reportedly, got around 350 screens across Karnataka, amid the onslaught of the big Tamil movie of the week, Leo, which has got far more shows than Ghost has.

But Shivanna fans are determined to make a party out of the Dasara release. Ahead of the fan show at the main theatre in Gandhinagar – Santhosh – fans will gather for a special party that will start at 8 pm and go on till the show begins. There’s a Ghost DJ Night that’s being organised, at which songs of Dr Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar will be played. Even if you are not catching the fan show, but love the music from their films, put on your dancing shoes and head to Santhosh theatre later today.

Ghost, produced by Sandesh Nagaraj for Sandesh Productions, is an action heist thriller the narrative of which takes place in a prison. The crux of the story unfolds after Shivarajkumar’s character holds a former CBI operative hostage at the prison, necessitating a hostage negotiation by Jayaram’s Chengappa. The film will feature Shivanna in three distinct avatars, including a digitally de-aged one. One of the avatars has the actor in gangster mode, but this, according to director Srinivas, is only about 20% of the narrative. Also, while the team is keen on getting Ghost 2 on floors as soon as possible, it is not a continuation of this story line and will instead only explore what becomes of Shivarajkumar’s character.
