Kannada filmmaker MG Srinivas is making all the right noise as far as his next directorial goes. His film, Ghost, which has Century Star Shivarajkumar in the lead, has got a lot of ‘good buzz’ going on in social media, making it one of the most-awaited films of the year. Tomorrow, on July 12, on Shivarajkumar’s birthday, Srinivas is releasing a special video called Big Daddy, which will capture one of the three shades his leading man has in the film, and serve as a sort of teaser to Ghost as well. The actual teaser, he has said, will be revealed at a later stage. The icing on the cake of the Big Daddy video is that the team will also announce the theatrical release date of Ghost.

The expectation is for Ghost to be a festival release, either during Dasara or Deepavali, but that will depend on the completion of the post-production work, given that the film has extensive VFX portions, including de-aging of Shivarajkumar. The film, though, will be released in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, with a decision on Hindi and Malayalam versions to be made based on the reception to the film. As for its overseas release, Srinivas explains, “We will plan the overseas release based on audience requirement. Releasing a film in other countries depends on the audience requirement in those places, whether it is the USA, Europe, Japan, etc., Let’s say, we begin with four shows in the US. If the demand for the film is far more, we will add another four shows and that will be the strategy followed everywhere. Currently we are focusing on US, UK, Europe and Australia, but if there is sufficient demand from any other region, we will attend to that as well.”
