Over the past 37 years, Shiva Rajkumar has taken on roles of almost every kind but perhaps no one ever imagined seeing him in a high-stakes heist thriller. Enter MG Srinivas into the scene who conceived this rather enterprising idea with the Hattrick Hero at the centre of it all, potentially paving the way for a new kind of commercial cinema to take the stage in the Kannada Film Industry.
The film, of course, is Ghost, a slick action thriller whose promotional material so far reveals Shiva Rajkumar in a never-before-seen avatar, wielding both guns and power in an alluring manner. Fans and movie buffs, in general, have been super keen on catching a bigger glimpse of the world that Srini & Co. have put together and turns out Shivanna's 61st birthday is the special occasion for that.
The makers of Ghost have released a new teaser that introduces the film's central character in a grand manner. A voiceover traces the movement of a considerably big Black-Ops-like team to suggest that it is attempting to apprehend a most-wanted man. "Be very careful. The team which went last time had told they will finish the job in five minutes. But they never returned," says the voiceover as we inch closer to the man of the moment. Cut to The Big Daddy himself in all his glory, puffing away a cigarette in an abandoned old building.
But that isn't the money shot because we then see him fixing himself pani puri, except that one of the ingredients is a stiff pour of whiskey! Arjun Janya's dynamic background score underlines these moments with gusto and soon enough, things are set ablaze to make way for the punchline. "I have scared more with my eyes than you could scare with your eyes," says The Big Daddy, having the final call that he is, indeed, THE ORIGINAL GANGSTER.
Needless to say, the new teaser has caught the attention of the netizens who are currently raving about it. Another bit of important info. in the promo is that Ghost will arrive in cinemas this Dasara. The film will be made in two parts, as revealed by Srini himself, and more importantly, the storyline is part of a larger narrative, which also includes the Birbal films. Srinivas/Srini Cinematic universe, to be precise.
