On Monday, the Ghosted trailer was released. It demonstrates how Chris Evans and Ana de Armas' major act of romance develops into a perilous global journey.
In the Apple TV+ movie, Evans plays Cole, who goes on a date with Sadie (de Armas) and is confused when she ghosts him and doesn't respond to his texts. When Cole plans to visit London to surprise Sadie while she is at work, he learns the startling truth that she is a covert agent, which shocks him. The two are then sucked into a global quest to save the world.
In the trailer, Cole tells Sadie that she had him abducted and tortured, all after one date. To which she informs him that he is the one who flew to London, but he repeats that it was a wonderful gesture!
The trailer shows that the journey will be exciting and full of action. Evans, who has fallen hard for De Armas, is "ghosted," which means that he suddenly stops talking to someone without an explanation. Evans is determined to find out why. Her secret life as a super spy might be one reason why she disappeared without a trace.
Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, and Tate Donovan are also in the upcoming film, which has a script by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.
Production credits for the movie include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Evans, Jules Daly, Wernick, and Reese. Co-producer is Dalia Ibelhauptaité, and executive producers are Donald J. Lee Jr., Brian Bell, and De Armas.
De Armas' portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's Blonde earned her a nomination for best actress at the recent Oscars. Evans and de Armas have worked together three times before, most recently on the films Knives Out (2019) and The Gray Man (2022).
On April 21, 2023, Ghosted makes its Apple TV+ debut.
