The Globetrotter event was one of the most-watched shows on OTT. The mega launch of SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi was streamed live on JioHotstar and OTT Play Premium. Fans were thrilled to see Mahesh Babu in a never-before-seen avatar, arriving on a bull as the mighty Rudra. The event clocked 75 million views in just one day, giving an idea of the kind of hype it created.
Rajamouli was visibly upset with the event as things did not go as planned, one of the sources from his unit has revealed to us that Rajamouli is hugely angry with the organisers, and the way things went wrong one after the other.
Just minutes before the event started, a glimpse of the title and Mahesh Babu’s look was leaked online. Everybody on social media came to know the title of the film, leaving Rajamouli disappointed. He was planning to launch the title on a massive 140-foot 4K LED screen, but even that did not turn out as planned. The generators supporting the LED screen did not function properly, and the teaser release was delayed by at least 20 minutes, leaving Rajamouli red-faced.
Apart from this, not many know that there were several technical glitches during the show. For starters, the mics did not work well, and they had to be changed repeatedly. When Rajamouli was speaking, the mic did not work properly, and the same was the case when Priyanka Chopra was speaking. Rajamouli, who is known as a perfectionist, had to witness so many stumbles at an event he had been planning for the last six months.
Not only this, but the various arrangements made for the fans were also criticised. After parking their cars, the fans had to walk for three long kilometres to the venue, which was very disturbing for a few in such cold conditions. Now that the event is done, people are slowly revealing the mishaps on social media and talking about what went wrong during the show.
On the other hand, Rajamouli has spoken to his team and has apparently reprimanded those who failed to take care of the technical department. Not only were the mics an issue, but several star entries were also delayed due to technical glitches. Even the OTT streaming had issues, as ads were played continuously one after another, which the fans did not like.
Rajamouli had no say in this because he had signed a huge deal with Hotstar, where they had to play these ads, but this disrupted the flow of the event, leaving Rajamouli visibly upset with the team.

There were a lot of cops deployed for the event, and luckily, no mishaps occurred, such as a stampede or any unforeseen circumstances. Rajamouli, who is technically sound with VFX and other technical aspects of filmmaking, generally unveils such titles only at a single press interaction with the media. But this time, he chose to announce on a larger scale, which did not turn out to be smooth.
The source adds that Rajamouli was also upset with the way the co-anchor Ashish Chanchlani hosted the show and was visibly upset with all the arrangements, but thankfully, the likes of anchor Suma managed things in such a way that the audience and viewers watching on screens had no issues while watching the show.
