The first look poster of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, as Kumbha, showed him as a wheelchair-bound antagonist, sporting a sinister look. This has obviously made many fans recollect a certain Tamil star who played a differently abled villain, leaving fans comparing the two looks.

Globetrotter, the tentatively called project which will see Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli joining hands for the first time, is rolling out updates. The first one to come out is Prithviraj’s look and character reveal. The Malayalam actor and director, will be playing the role of Kumbha, with the poster showing Prithviraj on a stylised wheel-chair with robotic tentacle arms. He sports a sinister look with crippled pair of legs.

This has led to fans comparing Prithviraj’s Kumbha look from a specific Tamil film, 24. The 2016 science fiction film which features Suriya in triple roles, also had the actor play the antagonist. His role as the notorious Athreya, who is also wheelchair-bound, has become a letdown for Rajamouli fans who expected something new from the RRR director. One even called that Kumbha is a "Athreya's updated version", while others began to compare both the characters, "A massive compliment or a too-familiar design?"

Globetrotter: When will the title be revealed?

The title launch event of Globetrotter is scheduled to take place on November 15, and will be live streamed on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. The event will take place at Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad.

With Mahesh Babu playing the lead role, Priyanka Chopra will be essaying the female lead, and the other cast and crew are also expected to be revealed very soon.
