The documentary aims to shed light on the culture and traditions specific to the East/West Godavari regions in Telugu states and other regions in Maharashtra
Popular Telugu OTT platform aha is turning a new leaf with its upcoming web original. You heard it right - the noted streamer is coming up with its first ever documentary titled Godari. Filmed by Gyabo Stories, aha Godari is a documentary focusing on the traditions specific to the regions around the Godavari river in the Telugu states. The premiere date of the original was also announced by aha.
Godari will be out on aha on March 31. While describing the documenatry, aha tweeted, “The joys of the Sikhs..the Bathukamma celebrations..the street dramas of Konaseema..let’s journey through ‘aha’ Godavari that’s a melting pot of culture and tradition..To release on March 31 on aha.” The streamer shared a scenic image of the river landscape, calling it a ‘100% Telugu documentary.’
Gyabo Stories, going by its social media page, is a group that ‘brings you the essence of our times, stories of individuals, locations, lifestyles and cultures.’ This is indeed a first-of-its-kind attempt in the Telugu digital space, which has more often restricted its scope to reality shows, web series and movies in the recent years. It remains to be seen if the docu will capture the imagination of viewers.
aha is one of the rare Telugu-only OTT platforms to have captured a huge audience base in the heart of Telugu states and several international regions. With their entry into the documentary space, they are certain to reach out to a wider segment of audiences, striking the right balance between information and entertainment. More details about the documentary will be out shortly.
Some of the recent releases and shows on aha include Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, Telugu Indian Idol 2, Boyfriend for Hire, Michael, Srirangaapuram, Santosham Awards 2022, Kalyanam Kamaneyam, Veyi Subhamulu Kalugu Neeku, Richie and the web serial Mandakini.
