GodFather, to hit screens on October 5, is one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year and Dasara marks the commencement of a season packed with films featuring many stars in the industry. Chiranjeevi steps into the shoes of Mohanlal in this Telugu remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer. In addition, this is the second film where the star is paired alongside Nayanthara. Their earlier collaboration was the patriotic drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

The pre-release event of the film is being organised today at Anantapur with a majority of the cast and crew in attendance. A few minutes after the makers launched the trailer of the political drama, a special glimpse featuring Nayanthara and her portrayal of Satya Priya Jaidev on the sets of Godfather was unveiled. She plays the role that was essayed by Manju Warrier in the original, as the daughter of a political patriarch who has just breathed his last.

The glimpse takes us through some of Nayanthara's key moments on the sets - from giving final touches to her makeup to the animated off-screen, on-screen discussions with Chiranjeevi, Satyadev and the Godfather team. Given the morose tone of the film, she dons saris in subdued colours. A few seconds also offer a sneak peek into an emotional sequence from the drama. The film is also Mohan Raja's third consecutive film with the 'lady super star' after Velaikkaran and Thani Oruvan (which was remade in Telugu as Dhruva)

RB Choudary and NV Prasad are bankrolling the film jointly under Super Good Films and Konidela Productions. Chiranjeevi's better half Konidela Surekha is the presenter. S Thaman is the composer. Samuthirakani, Salman Khan, Satyadev, Sunil essay other important roles. The original film, Lucifer, that inspired this drama, can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
