Sajan Bakery and Sayanna Varthakal filmmaker Arun Chandu had an interesting update to share on his upcoming sci-fi film Gaganachari, which tackles a subject that is new to Mollywood. The film, which has Anarkali Marikar, Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese and Mukesh, had completed its shoot almost a year ago and is now busy with its post-production phase. However, the filmmaker said that before the movie hits theatres, it will first be screened in film festivals.

Sharing an update about the movie on Gokul’s 29th birthday the past Thursday, the director wrote on his social media page that the team is currently completing the CGI work of the movie and that “needed the right amount of time and effort in order to deliver the best visual treat that compliments our vision and this universe we built.”

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Arun had said that the film, which is set in 2035 and has Anarkali essaying the role of an alien, revolves around a Malayali community of the future. The entire film has been shot as a mockumentary like The Office and What We Do in the Shadows, he had said, adding that it’s probably the first ever Indian sci-fi movie to be filmed in that style.

In his recent social media post, the director said that the team will complete the post production with the final sound mix, which is also underway. “Upon its finish, we will be sending out the movie to international festivals,” he wrote, adding that the team is hoping to hear “more great things about this little film of ours with a big heart”.

The director also shared the poster of Gokul’s character named Alan John Valamparambil from the movie, which has music composed by Prashant Pillai. Arun has co-written the film’s script and dialogues with Siva Sai. Kala and Thuramukhan’s action choreographer Pheonix Prabhu was also part of its technical crew.
