Director Alphonse Puthren’s comeback film Gold is hitting theatres on Thursday, but it seems it has already won over a select set of audience who had attended its censor in the Middle East. One such user had posted a video, soon after watching the movie, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead.

In a short video, the social media user, who had accompanied three others to the censor of the film in a Middle Eastern country, posted a few snaps from inside the theatre as well as shared his feedback soon after watching the movie.

He hailed the film’s background score and music, which is by Rajesh Murugesan, who had also worked in Alphonse’s Neram and Premam. The user said, “There’s only one thing to say about the movie… it has everything that we have come to expect from an Alphonse Puthren movie. Also, another piece of advice that we would like to share is to choose the theatre that has the best sound quality because the BGM is just brilliant. To totally get that feel and celebrate, you need to watch it in such a theatre.”

The movie’s overseas distributors are Truth Global Films. Gold will mark Prithviraj’s biggest release till date, with the film being played in 1,300 theatres worldwide. It’s also the first ever Malayalam movie to be screened in Israel and Iceland, and is releasing in 25+ European countries.

Gold, which has Prithviraj essaying the role of Danger Joshy and Nayanthara playing Sumangali Unnikrishnan, has a bevy of stars in supporting roles. Lalu Alex, Roshan Mathew, Jaffer Idukki, Vinay Forrt and Deepti Sati are part of the comedy thriller, which is co-produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames.

The film marks Alphonse’s third directorial venture after Neram and Premam, both of which had Nivin Pauly in the lead role. Speculations are rife that several stars will also appear in blink-and-miss cameo roles in the movie.
