Gold: Prithviraj-Nayanthara film's teaser becomes first in Malayalam to get 5M views in less than 24 hours

The teaser of Gold, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara, has been turning some heads. Fans are truly excited about the upcoming film Gold and it is evident with the way its teaser has grabbed so many eyeballs.

The teaser of Alphonse Puthren’s directorial film has received over 5 million views on YouTube, making it the first Malayalam film to get 5 million views for its teaser in less than 24 hours. The video has actually achieved the feat in just 20 hours. The teaser was released on March 22. 

Prithviraj took to social media to announce the big news. The lead actor could not contain his excitement about his film breaking records on the streamer within hours. He shared the poster for the film which marks the number of views on the teaser and reads 'trending #1 on YouTube'. He mentioned in the caption, “Thank you for the love!.”

The teaser, just over two and a half minutes long, can be viewed on Magic Frames’ YouTube channel. Though it does not give away many details about the film, it sure looks like a mass entertainer. The teaser opens with a group of young men trying to push their stalled truck as Prithviraj as Joshi S makes a slow entry, giving an intense look and kicking them. The teaser also shares the look of Nayanthara as Sumangali Unnikrishnan, who is seen munching on some popcorn. 

This marks the return of Alphonse Puthren as a director after a long gap of 7 years. This is also the first time that he is collaborating with Prithviraj.

Apart from Prithviraj and Nayanthara, the film also features Mallika Sukumaran, Shammi Thilakan, Roshan Mathew, Shanthi Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Althaf Salim, Deepti Sati, Lalu Alex, Sudheesh, and Saiju Kurup. 

Gold will be released in theatres on March 25, 2022.
