Fans have waited long enough for director Alphonse Puthren next directorial after the blockbuster Premam. With just less than 24 hours to go for the makers to confirm the release date of his upcoming movie Gold, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara, the anticipation is high and the fans have already taken to social media to guess when the movie will finally hit theatres.
Gold, which is touted to be a dark comedy, was initially set to release during Onam in September. However, the movie’s post production was incomplete and the makers decided to postpone its release to a later date. Alphonse, in fact, had even reshot a few portions for his latest version in the meantime.
Its co-producer Listin even took to his social networking page to announce that they will only reveal the release date of the movie after Alphonse has handed over the final version of the movie. It seems that has been done as the producer recently posted on his social media page that they will be announcing the worldwide release date of the film on November 23 at 1:12pm.
The timing has already got the fans to speculate when the movie will hit theatres. While majority believe that the film will release on December 1, 2022, a section of the fans opined that movie could only hit theatres on January 12, 2023. Both days are Thursdays – which has been the preferred day of the week for Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames’ previous two Prithviraj-starrers Jana Gana Mana and Kaduva that hit theatres on April 28 and July 7, respectively.
A December release has been heavily rumoured. Alphonse’s previous film Premam too didn’t have a lot of promotional activities ahead of its release and Gold is expected to follow in the same vein. The movie also has Chemban Vinod Jose, Ajmal Amir, Vinay Forrt and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles.
