Golden Globes 2024- From Barbie to Only Murders in the Building, here are all the top nominees

The Golden Globes Awards have finally disclosed the nominees of the 2024 edition, ahead of the main ceremony on Jan, 7. Barbie, Oppenheimer, Succession, Only Murders in the Building are top nominees.

The Golden Globes awards 2024 list of nominations is finally here, and fans cannot keep calm. Since its origin in 1944, the prestigious Awards does not segregate between tv shows and films but focuses on individual genres to fully appreciate the shades of Cinema. Thus, films and series like Barbie, Succession, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Only Murders in the Building, have emerged among the top dogs of the year.

The 2024 edition will have Barbie fighting tooth and nail to maintain its top spot, with nine nominations, which makes it the second most-nominated film in the history of Golden Globes. Barbie has been nominated in Best Picture Musical or Comedy, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Actor, three songs for Best Original Song.

The film also scored one in the new category, Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Barbie was closely followed by Oppenheimer, its box office sister, scoring eight nominations. Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things closely followed, with seven each.

Among tv shows, Succession has topped the list, with nine nods, including Best TV Series Drama, Best Performance Female Actor in TV Series- Drama, three nominations for Best Performance Male Actor in TV Series- Drama, Best Performance by a Female Actor in Supporting Role on TV, three nominations for Best Performance by a Male Actor in Supporting Role on TV. It was closely tailed by The Bear and Only Murders in the Building, that scored five nominations each, and Beef, that got three nominations.
