On April 6, Golden Star Ganesh will embark on a new project. Ganesh, who registered a hit last year with Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, is currently working on the Vikhyath-directed Yours Sincerely Ram, with Ramesh Aravind, and has another film called Pinaka in the pipeline will go on floors with an untitled family entertainer to be directed by lyricist-turned-filmmaker Arasu Anthare. The film is Arasu’s second directorial, which comes a decade after his debut, Love in Mandya, which had Sathish Ninasam and Sindhu Loknath in the lead.

Amritha Aiyer to debut in Kannada cinema opposite Ganesh

For his film with Ganesh, Arasu has roped in Amritha Aiyer, who, although a Bengaluru girl, has been working predominantly in Tamil and Telugu cinema, most notably, the hit 2024 film HanuMan. This will be Amritha’s Kannada film debut. Following the muhurtha on April 6, the film will go on floors the following day, with schedules planned in Bengaluru, Mysuru and parts of North Karnataka.

The filmmaker has been quoted as saying that he will blend Ganesh’s unique style with his sensibilities in such a way that the end result is an entertaining family drama, with just the right dose of humour. He has also said that he had Ganesh in mind while writing the story.

Given that music is a major highlight of Ganesh films, Arasu promises that his film will also have melodies that will catch the fancy of audiences. Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi’s biggest draw was its music, especially the viral hit, Dwapara. Incidentally, in Arasu's debut directorial, Love in Mandya , he had roped in Anoop Seelin, and the film featured several hit numbers. He’d even got Bappi Lahiri to sing a number called Current Hoda Timealli. The filmmaker is yet to reveal who will compose for his film with Ganesh, but adds that Sugnaan (Dana Kayonu, I Love You) will serve as cinematographer and Akshay P Rao as editor.
