Govinda Naam Mera is a masala comedy aimed at the general public, as is evident from one glance at the trailer. The movie with Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani was supposed to come out in theaters, but it will now premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

During an interaction with Mid Day, the director Shashank Khaitan was asked what caused the change of plans, especially at a time when Bollywood's dry spell has been broken by movies like Drishyam 2 and Bhediya. According to director Shashank Khaitan, the movie was written during the first lockdown, shot during the second, and finished in the early months of 2022. However, popular movies of the time performed poorly at the box office. What one sees now is the outcome of choices made long ago.

Having Govinda Naam Mera on the floors has been a unique experience in and of itself. Mr. Lele, starring Varun Dhawan, was announced by the director in 2019. Despite the comedy's failure to materialise, Khaitan is rumoured to have redesigned it with a new title and main guy. Varun provided a new backdrop for the film. The filmmaker has changed more than 40% of it with Vicky. He writes characters and scripts that reflect the actor's characteristics. Every performer has their own unique energy, so Khaitan is delighted that Vicky and he were able to work together.

Raazi (2018) and Sardar Udham (2021) are only two examples of the intense issues Kaushal is renowned for favouring. According to the director, he will be shown in a different light in the next criminal comedy.

Khaitan thinks this is Kaushal's hardest performance because he can't use background music or makeup to make it better. He doesn't want to discount his efforts in serious movies, but in comedies, the punchline falls flat if the actor doesn't deliver it appropriately. Despite not being an emotionally taxing experience, making Govinda Naam Mera required just as much work.

Khaitan had also talked about Rannbhoomi, Screw Dheela, and Bedhadak, which was going to be Shanaya Kapoor's first movie. However, the initiatives have not yet begun.

The filmmaker said that such a trying time in human history has been overcome by them. They ought to be in a better situation in another six months. They are figuring out how to launch Bedhadak in the early months of 2023. Although it boasts new faces, the movie is still pricey. All of the movies he has announced will be released when they're ready.
